Ali, a Jordanian Reborn and Writer

He was aware of the pressures he will face after converting to Shiism; says: I immigrated for purely religious reasons, I wrote some books and I knew that if it was published in Jordan, it would affect my life and work and I would be harassed by society and security.

Some of my books were confiscated and banned in Jordan and were bought and burned in some Arab countries, despite this, I still believe that understanding the opposing thought can only be solved through scientific thought and Discussions.

Ali is the pseudonym of this Jordanian writer. He preferred not to speak his name so as not to repeat the past hardships.

He says: I faced many problems, when I wanted to renew my passport in Syria, they prevented me from doing so. I entered Jordan through an intermediary and was immediately summoned and interrogated until I was able to get a new passport three days later. I stayed in Jordan for a month and decided to make a trip without returning this time, I went to the border but I was stopped at the border. I know they don’t want me out of Jordan so they can control my influence on the youth.

In this case, Ali says that Jordanian society does not consider Shia as a Muslims and says that you consider Ali to be a god.  Or you pray together etc, these are myths that have no validity.

He added: The authorities prevent Shiites from performing their rituals, even though this is a legitimate and basic right in all human rights, we also have Shahadatain, fasting, prayer and belief in resurrection, And our difference with the Sunnis is like the difference between the Sunni sects in jurisprudence, and the Shiites of the Imamia have a special view on the matter of Imamate, just as the view of the Companions is different in the Sunni sect.

He said: We are not allowed to build a mosque or a hussainiyah and have a place for religious education and the revival of the events of the Ahl al-Bayt, such as the days of Imams’ births and deaths. We are not allowed to rent a place to celebrate a religious event. Once some Shiites gathered in a house to recite the Kumail prayer which is recited every thursday night. Although its content is completely monotheistic, someone complained about them and this program was stopped.
