Waseem Reza is a Kashmiri converted to Shia. He states that it’s about 5 years that I became Shia and I’m proud of became a Shia.
He says, with study and research, I have chosen Shia religion. He mentioned the legitimacy of Ghadir and Imam Ali (a.s) and said: I had a discussion with one of the Shia clerics and I read about Ghadir and I realized that the Ghadir incident was proven from the Sunni perspective and a question came in my mind which, if, in their view, the righteousness of Ghadir has been proven, then why are they not acting?!
He continues: A Wahhabi had told me not to talk to the Shiites, because they do not accept the Prophet (s.a.w.w) as a prophet and they accept Imam Ali (a.s) as a prophet. When I asked a Shia cleric, he answered, we don’t believe it at all, we say in Azan, “Ash’ad Ann Muhammad Rasoolullah and Ash’ad Ann Ali Wali Allah- اشهد ان محمد رسول الله و اشهد ان علی ولی الله “.
He adds, I also have read about the incident of Karbala and the infallible Imams (a.s). Imam Hussein’s troops and Yazid’s troops, both prayed and read the Qur’an, but what was the difference? The difference was that Imam Hussein’s army was worshiping for God.
During his talk, he mentions research and thought several times and says that question should be on our minds, what is the right prayer? A prayer that is in the will of Allah. In my opinion, Imam Hussein (as) is an Imam of light and Yazid was the Imam of darkness and Karbala is a struggle between right and wrong.
He continues: Those who killed Imam Hussein (a.s) on the day of Ashura, In fact, they killed the Prophet (s.a.w.w), because the Prophet (s.a.w.w) saying: “Hussein is from me and I’m from Hussein- حُسین مِنی وَ انا مِن حسین”
Waseem Reza is a cleric of Kashmir who has came to Iran to study religious sciences. He says: I loved mourning for Imam Hussein (a.s) from childhood.
